AC Current Sensor Series

A Low-Cost Solution for Control Systems and AC Current Measuring

What’s a Current Sensor?

A current sensor, also called a current transformer, senses and helps measure high electrical currents. It’s extremely dangerous to touch or break a circuit line, so current sensing devices are used primarily for safety reasons. A current sensor transforms the circuit’s line current into a reduced, proportional “measurable” current. You can then link the current sensing component to your measuring instruments. For any application, the reduced current or IP is given as:

IP: Reduced current or the current proportional to the line current

N: Secondary turns (turns on our product)

IL: Line current

Current sensors isolate your measuring instruments from potentially high currents in the circuit. Often in power applications current sensors are used in protective relays and metering. They’re ideal for isolating current feedback signals in switching power supplies, motor current load or overload detection, lighting applications and sonar current applications.

AC Current Sensor Series

Amgis’ AS Series is designed as a low-cost solution for any control system and most AC current monitoring/measuring applications. The current sensors can serve as the feedback elements from SMPS outputs and the pulse control module.

Our AC current sensor series is manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified facility, and they meet VDE standards.
