New Product/Engineering Manager

Amgis Toroidal Power Products is pleased to announce that Jakob Jakobsson is joining the team, effective October 4, 2010, as product manager/engineering manager.

Jakobsson comes to us from Amveco Magnetics, now a part of Actuant. During his approximate 20 years with the company, Jakobsson served as the design engineer, engineering manager and most recently product manager.

His experience is enhanced by his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the overall leadership of the engineering department and customer design requests. Specifically, he’ll lead efforts in the following areas:

• Researching and evaluating new product opportunities, demand for potential products, and customer needs
• Developing engineering strategy and executing plans for existing products
• Managing distribution channels for products
• Ensuring effective, branded marketing communications including the company website, print communication and advertising
• Analyzing the effectiveness of all engineering efforts

Jakobsson will work closely with our sales and marketing teams.
